Perhaps this Instant Pot salmon recipe will work as an at-home date night dinner or a simple meal for a family of two (or four) during a busy work week.
Instant Pot salmon only needs a few ingredients that you probably already have at home.
The lemon juice along with the sliced lemon and fresh dill truly complement the salmon flavor to make this salmon recipe taste much like a dish you’d order at a restaurant.
Which type of Salmon is Best?
There are two types of salmon to choose from, Atlantic salmon or Pacific salmon. You’ll find that most Atlantic salmon is farmed whereas salmon that comes from the Pacific is wild-caught. The healthiest type of salmon to buy for this Instant Pot salmon recipe is wild-caught salmon.
While both types of salmon are a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, the wild-caught salmon tends to give you a healthier slice of salmon due to what they consume out in the freshwater.
Many people prefer the taste of the wild-caught salmon over the Atlantic salmon because of the flavor difference.
Can Salmon be Cooked from Frozen
Yes, salmon can be cooked from frozen. The key is to make sure you’re cooking frozen salmon to the proper internal temperature.
It may take longer to cook Instant Pot salmon from frozen, but it’s doable. The only issue that may arise is getting your frozen salmon to cook to the same flaky texture that thawed salmon can easily provide.
Can I Cook Vegetables at the Same Time in the Instant Pot?
The Instant Pot was created to focus on one food at a time, but many people use a trivet to cook vegetables at the same time in the Instant Pot. If you’re looking to cook vegetables with your Instant Pot salmon, then you’ll need a taller trivet to do the job.
Vegetables may need a little more time to cook in your Instant Pot than the salmon so be sure to check the appropriate temperature and time settings for the veggies of your choice.
My best tip is to make sure you have a tall trivet to place both foods inside your pot when you opt to make vegetables with your Instant Pot salmon.
